3. Departure Options
   You can choose between two starting points:

Option 1: Meet the group in Papua
For the [early August expedition, this will be in Nabire]. This option works well for travellers who will already be in or near Papua before the trip begins.

Option 2: Join the group in Jakarta
For most guests, it’s easier to start the journey at Hotel Santika Premiere in Jakarta. This option ensures a smooth, coordinated beginning to the trip. Here’s why it’s often the best choice:

• You’ll have time to take care of any last-minute preparations, such as buying gear, exchanging currency, or picking up travel essentials.

• You’ll meet your fellow travellers and get to know each other before we set off.

• You’ll attend a pre-trip briefing where we go over the itinerary, safety information, and logistics.

• We’ll fly together from Jakarta to Papua, which makes travel and boarding much easier.

• Once everyone is aboard, the ship departs right away, so starting in Jakarta removes any risk of missing the voyage.

This Jakarta package includes: three nights at Hotel Santika Premiere (4-star), round-trip domestic flights Jakarta–Papua–Jakarta, and all ground transfers. Everything is provided at cost, with no markup. The total price for this add-on is [AUD 1,400].
