This is not a cruise. This is an expedition.

Kalawai Adventure runs true expedition journeys into some of the most remote and biologically rich regions left on Earth. These are not resort experiences and not mass-market tours. Our voyages are guided by marine scientists and local experts who live and work in West Papua. Every itinerary is designed for people who want genuine wildlife encounters, real discovery, and meaningful connection to place.

Extraordinary Encounters, Every Day

  2. Leatherback turtles nesting in the middle of the night

  3. Birds-of-paradise displays deep in the rainforest

  4. Other amazing wildlife encounters: cassowaries, manta rays, hornbills, etc.

  5. Untouched coral reefs far beyond the Raja Ampat beaten path

  6. Jungle rivers, waterfalls, and remote coastal villages

Most People Know Raja Ampat. Few Have Seen What Lies Beyond.

West Papua holds some of the highest marine and terrestrial biodiversity on the planet. While Raja Ampat has become famous, vast surrounding regions remain virtually unknown to most travelers. Kalawai Adventure expeditions access these remote areas by sea. Far beyond the normal tourist track lies the real wilderness...
